FAF is an exporter which has a big social and environmental impact in the coffee producer's community of Northern region of Sao Paulo.
Mirim means tiny in Tupi-Guarani. Simply because the size of the beans are tinier than the ones we usually find in specialty lots. Just like in Kenya with ABs lots that are as good and sometimes even better than AAs at a fraction of the price, the MIRIM project looks for tinier beans with a good profile in order to give value to more than 70% of the production instead of less than 50%.
This creates en entry level for specialty coffee in Brazil that is even welcome here when you look at the explosion of the specialty market prices (that have more to do with logistics and dollar than production).
It's the 11th year that Caffè Cataldi buys from this exporter several lots and this one will make a perfect espresso cup :)
