The name of the village comes from a farmer, M. Goyo that lived there who had a strong personality, Tirtira as the locals say. His personality was so strong that now the village has his name and so naturally the washing station was named after him.

This station is managed by the DW company, an important group in the specialty coffee scene in Ethiopia. They manage all the chain, from the farm up to the exportation of the coffee. This allows them to be very picky all along the supply chain. Many lots they produce get awards both locally and internationally, on a regular basis.
