Located in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec region, in the Santa Ana area between 1300 and 1500 meters above sea level, El Naranjo Farm was established in 1915.
This farm is a matriarchal model owned by two sisters: Amada Milla de Angulo and Maria Aida Milla de Bolaños. Together they cultivate bourbon, pacamara and, to a lesser extent, caturra on 10 hectares. El Naranjo is a place of great biodiversity, with forest plantations, coffee plantations, grasslands and crops. There are 12 endangered and 58 threatened plant species (fungi, bromeliads, orchids, bryophytes, agaves and extremophilic bacteria) as well as 12 endemic bird species and other vertebrate groups.
